Tap – Chat Stories is an Immersive Storytelling Experiment by Wattpad

Tap – Chat Stories is an “immersive” storytelling experiment by Wattpad after Facebook’s Instagram, Whatsapp and Messenger Day launching their new Snapchat Stories clones one after another for appealing to teenaged or young adult users.

On Feb 22, 2017, Wattpad debuted Tap – Chat Stories, an app for reading chat-style short stories which introduced a different way to read stories on your phone: as text message-like chats. Tap – Chat Stories is an “immersive” storytelling experiment by Wattpad after Facebook’s Instagram, Whatsapp and Messenger Day launching their new Snapchat Stories clones one after another for appealing to teenaged or young adult users.

With Tap, Wattpad allows you to read addictive chat stories for free and makes you diving into fun and exciting stories that drop you right into the TAP action as if you are reading someone else’s texts. At launch, there are hundreds of stories available across categories but more hot stories showed on the homepage of the app like spine-chilling horror, steamy romances, nail-biting dramas and more. You can also write your own chat stories and share your favorites with your friends.

Tap is a freemium service. While the app itself is free, as are a select number of stories, it also includes the option to upgrade to a premium service. Here, users will gain access to an unlimited number of stories, including exclusive ones available only to subscribers. The service costs $2.99 per week, $7.99 per month, or $39.99 per year.

Now Tap has 100,000 plus installs on Google Play Store, there is a big gap compared with its parent company Wattpad, a social publishing platform for authors whose community now includes over 45 million readers worldwide, who visit its site or its flagship mobile app to read its nearly 250 million stories.

Tap is a free download on iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
